Inside Solargy’s Production Process: From Components to Final Testing

By Solargy Editorial July 20, 2026 Product, Innovation 6 min read

Reliable outdoor products begin long before final assembly. A solar umbrella combines a structural frame, weather-resistant fabric, mechanical movement and an electrical system, so each production stage has to work as part of one complete process.

Material preparation and component control

Production starts with incoming materials and components. Aluminum profiles, steel ribs for selected models, canopy fabric, hardware, electrical modules and packaging materials are organized for the corresponding product. Controlling materials at the beginning helps maintain dimensional consistency and reduces problems later in assembly.

Metal processing and frame preparation

The umbrella’s column, support arms, ribs and connecting parts are cut, formed and machined according to the model specification. The aluminum-and-steel ZL01-90, ZL02-90 and ZL03-100 use a coated surface treatment, while the all-aluminum ZL04-90, ZL01-105 and ZL01P-90 use anodized finishes. Workers then prepare mechanical subassemblies and check the fit of moving parts.

Canopy cutting and sewing

Outdoor fabric is measured, cut and sewn into canopy panels. The latest catalog specifies 250g color-woven fabric for ZL01-90, ZL02-90, ZL03-100, ZL04-90 and ZL01P-90, while the larger ZL01-105 uses 300g premium color-woven fabric. The fabrics include a waterproof coating and defined colorfastness performance.

Electrical integration and assembly

For smart models, the production team integrates the semi-flexible photovoltaic module, battery, wiring, USB outputs, lighting and the fan or Bluetooth audio functions specified for the model. Mechanical and electrical work must be coordinated so cables remain protected while the umbrella opens, closes and rotates.

Inspection, functional testing and packing

  • Check frame movement, alignment and locking points.
  • Verify fan, lighting, audio and USB functions where fitted.
  • Inspect canopy finish, stitching and overall appearance.
  • Confirm accessories and protective packaging before warehousing.

Solargy maintains production, assembly, inspection and testing capabilities in Suzhou. The combination of engineering design and hands-on manufacturing allows the team to respond to product feedback and support customized projects more efficiently.

For buyers evaluating a solar umbrella supplier, a transparent production process is as important as a feature list. It provides evidence that structural, textile and electrical systems are being considered together from the first component to the finished product.
